You're happy with what you're doing, just so long as you don't have to actively chose to do something else. Maintain Mister 'Status Quo'. Don't make any waves for fear your creaking and rotting little raft might capsize, causing you to drown with a snake around your body in a calm sea on a cloudless day. A South African ParableTwo brothers were chained together to their father's soil since their birth. Their whole lives they wrestled bitterly over ownership of this fertile soil. None were stronger physically, having fed on the same sweet fruits that the soil had borne. Their blood ran, in equal amounts, through eroding gullies. Only the more noble of the two, in his adamant resolve, gained a slight advantage, and was victorious after many years of struggle with his brother. Out of love, not pity, did he grant exactly half of their father's soil to his brother, who had once coveted it in it's entirety.A South African Parable

Confess - a drabble'Confess! I knew you did it.' She said only in mock accusation. He was indeed guilty... and he did confess... to her and everyone's absolute horror. No one likes a rat and a rat was what he was. Though the betrayal was done by democratic consensus he was the one held responsible - the ring leader. The 'King Rat' in fact. He was the bull in the china shop and it all came crashing down.
